Google Business Profile management, kept as carefully as your front door.

For many businesses the Google Business Profile is the most viewed page they have: it appears in Maps, in the local pack and beside every search for the business by name. It is also one of the sources AI assistants read for local questions. We set it up properly, keep it complete and current, and look after the details most profiles neglect.

Example: map results for "interior designer near me" with Your Studio in the first position and a complete profile with reviews.

In short: Google Business Profile Management

Google Business Profile management is the ongoing work of keeping a business's Google listing complete, accurate and active: verified ownership, precise categories, services, hours, photos, posts, answers to common questions and considered review responses. A well-kept profile supports map pack visibility, first impressions and the facts AI assistants repeat.

Before / after

Signs your Google Business Profile needs attention, and what a well-kept profile changes.

Typical patterns we see before Google Business Profile Management work begins, and what the work is designed to change. Patterns, not promises.

  1. Before:

The primary category is too broad, or simply wrong

    After:

Primary and secondary categories chosen precisely for the services clients search for

  2. Before:

Unverified, duplicate or ownerless profiles, some for old locations

    After:

One verified profile per real location, with ownership and access documented

  3. Before:

Stock or outdated photos, and no posts since the profile was created

    After:

Current photography of the work and the place, with regular, useful posts

  4. Before:

Questions answered by strangers and reviews left unanswered

    After:

Accurate answers to common questions and a considered reply to every review

  5. Before:

Hours, services and links out of step with the website

    After:

Details that match the website, directories and booking systems

    Performance reporting

Calls, direction requests, website visits and the searches that surfaced the profile, reported monthly in plain language.

The profile, the map and the AI answer

Google's local results depend mainly on relevance, distance and prominence. The profile shapes relevance through its categories, services and description, and prominence through reviews and activity. The same profile is one of the sources AI assistants and AI Overviews draw on when asked for a local recommendation, so its accuracy carries well beyond the map.

Guidelines, kept

Google's guidelines are strict and enforcement is often automated. We do not add keywords to business names, create listings for locations that do not exist, or offer incentives for reviews. Those shortcuts lead to suspensions, and a suspended profile disappears from the map.

What does Google Business Profile management include?

Verification and ownership, categories, services and attributes, photos and posts, answers to common questions, review requests and responses, multi-location consistency, suspension support and monthly reporting on calls, directions and website visits.

How often should a Google Business Profile be updated?

Details should change the moment the business does. Beyond that, regular photos and posts, and replies to new reviews within a few days, keep a profile active and current. We agree a cadence that suits the business.

Why was my Google Business Profile suspended?

Common causes are edits Google could not verify, keywords added to the business name, an address that does not meet the guidelines, or more than one profile for the same location. We identify the likely cause, correct it and file a reinstatement request with supporting documents. Reinstatement is Google's decision.

Can we have a Google Business Profile without a storefront?

Yes. Service-area businesses, such as builders and designers who visit clients, can hide their address and list the areas they serve. They still need a real business location and must meet Google's guidelines.

Do posts and photos help rankings?

Google does not publish a weighting. Complete, current profiles tend to perform better, and photos and posts clearly influence whether people call, visit or move on. We treat them as part of a profile that represents the business well.

Is Google Business Profile management part of local SEO?

It is the center of it. Local SEO also covers citations, location pages, local links and map tracking. Some clients need only the profile managed; others need the full program.

Can you remove a negative review?

Only reviews that break Google's policies can be flagged for removal, and Google makes the decision. For genuine criticism, a calm public reply and a steady flow of new, genuine reviews do more.
