AI Visibility Snapshot

Technical SEO · Migrations and redesigns

Technical SEO: the foundations everything else stands on.

Premium websites are often built for the eye first: large imagery, animation, inventive navigation. Search engines and AI crawlers need something plainer underneath: pages they can reach, render, understand and trust. We find what stands in their way and fix it without compromising the design, and we plan redesigns and migrations so they keep what the old site earned.

Example: search results for "private wealth management for founders" with Private Wealth Management for Founders | Your Firm ranked first, and a trend line improving over twelve months.

In short: Technical SEO

Technical SEO is the work of making a website easy for search engines and AI systems to crawl, render, index and understand. It covers site architecture, internal linking, page speed and Core Web Vitals, structured data, canonical tags, redirects and international settings. It matters most during a redesign or migration, when years of earned visibility can be lost.

Before / after

Signs of a technical SEO problem, and what sound technical SEO changes.

Typical patterns we see before Technical SEO work begins, and what the work is designed to change. Patterns, not promises.

  1. Before:

Important pages are crawled rarely, or not indexed at all

    After:

Every page that matters is discoverable, indexable and linked from where it should be

  2. Before:

Heavy images and scripts make key pages slow on phones

    After:

Pages that load and respond quickly on the devices clients actually use

  3. Before:

Duplicate URLs, parameters and thin archive pages dilute the site

    After:

One canonical URL for each page, and a lean, deliberate index

  4. Before:

A redesign launched without a redirect plan

    After:

Migrations mapped page by page, with redirects, checks and monitoring before and after launch

  5. Before:

Structured data missing, broken or contradicting the page

    After:

Valid structured data that matches what each page says

The work

What our technical SEO includes.

7 workstreams, run as one program by one senior team.

  1. 01

    Technical SEO audit

A full crawl and review of indexing, rendering, architecture, speed, structured data and Search Console data, with every issue ranked by likely impact.

  2. 02

    Crawling and indexing

Robots rules, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, redirects, status codes and parameters, so search engines spend their time on the pages that matter.

  3. 03

    Site architecture and internal linking

A clear hierarchy, sensible URLs and internal links that show which pages matter most.

  4. 04

Core Web Vitals and page speed

Image, font, script and server work that makes pages load and respond quickly, measured on real devices, not just in a lab.

  5. 05

    Structured data

Valid schema for the organization, services, people, products, articles and locations, matched to what each page says.

  6. 06

    Migrations and redesigns

URL inventories, redirect maps, pre-launch template reviews and post-launch monitoring for new sites, platforms and domains.

  7. 07

    International and multi-site setup

Hreflang, regional sites and multi-location structures planned so each version reaches the right audience.

Migrations and redesigns

A new website is the moment most organic visibility is lost. URLs change, content is trimmed, redirects are missed and new templates drop details search engines relied on. We join the project early: inventory every URL that earns traffic or links, map the redirects, review templates before launch, and watch crawling, indexing and rankings closely afterward.

Technical SEO and AI crawlers

AI assistants retrieve pages through their own crawlers and through search indexes. Pages that block those crawlers, depend on scripts to show their content or contradict their own structured data are harder to retrieve and quote. The same technical care serves both. None of it guarantees a mention.

What is technical SEO?

Technical SEO is the work of making a site easy for search engines to crawl, render, index and understand: site architecture, internal links, speed and Core Web Vitals, structured data, canonical tags and redirects. It is the foundation content and authority depend on.

What does a technical SEO audit include?

A full crawl of the site, a review of indexing and Search Console reports, rendering and JavaScript checks, page speed and Core Web Vitals on real-user data, structured data validation, and a review of architecture, internal links and redirects, delivered as a prioritized list of fixes.

Do Core Web Vitals affect rankings?

They are part of the page experience signals Google uses, and Google describes them as one factor among many; relevant, helpful content matters more. Their effect on visitors is clearer: slow pages lose people before they read a word.

How do we protect SEO during a website redesign or migration?

Start early. Inventory every URL that earns traffic or links, map each one to its new home with permanent redirects, keep the content and structured data that matter, test on staging, then monitor crawling, indexing and rankings closely after launch. Some fluctuation is normal; large losses usually trace back to missed redirects or removed content.

Can you work with our developers or agency?

Yes. Most technical SEO is delivered as clear specifications and reviews for your developers, agency or platform team. Where it is simpler, we implement directly.

Will technical changes alter how our site looks?

Rarely. Most of the work is invisible: markup, redirects, loading order, image formats. Where a design choice does affect search, we explain the trade-off and propose options that keep the look.

Does technical SEO help with AI search?

Yes. AI assistants retrieve pages through crawlers and search indexes, so pages that are reachable, fast, readable without scripts and consistent with their structured data are easier for them to use. It improves the conditions for a citation; it cannot guarantee one.
